Why do I receive an error message 'Active depreciation worksheet in the current financial year already exists for XXX' when I try to process a manual property depreciation event?

Issue

Navigate to Entity Level > Transactions > Fund Expenses > Depreciation

When processing a Property Depreciation business event, I encountered an error 'Active depreciation worksheet in the current financial year already exists for XXX.'

Troubleshooting

A manual depreciation event cannot be used if a Depreciation Worksheet is already set up for a property as it will duplicate the depreciation.

Resolutions:

1. If this is the first year on Class and you wish to process the depreciation manually, remove the depreciation schedule by clicking 'Remove All', you can then post the manual event.
2. To continue using the depreciation worksheet, review and update the depreciation amount in the Depreciation Worksheet. You should not post a manual depreciation event in this case.

The best practice is to use a depreciation worksheet and maintain one depreciation worksheet per property, which includes all the fixed assets related to the property.
